Golden Age™ and Golden Days™ are both based on retro sans serif type designs from the 1950s.
STAGGERED FONTS and BASELINE SHIFTS
When you need to create a little more stress in your designs, the Golden Days™ Strays fonts may be just the ticket. The alphabetical characters are set with baseline shifts and at random angles. However, when setting words with double letters, as in the "tt" in the word "letters" you will find that the duplicate letters don't look as good when they are shifted by the same amount. In order to create a more dynamic effect, it is recommended that you manually shift one of the letters in order to improve the appearance of such words.
GOLDEN AGE versus GOLDEN DAYS
These two font families are somewhat similar, but actually have some very different characteristics. While the x-heights of the lowercase characters is the same in both font styles, the uppercase characters in the Golden Days™ fonts have a higher x-height, and in most cases the characters outlines are proportioned differently. The ascender and descender lengths are also different. The character widths are generally wider in the Golden Days™ fonts and the "a" character is in the style of an italic "a", which really plays a strong role in changing the appearance of the set text. You can license both families together at a reduced special rate.
BRACKETS and PARENTHESES
The brackets and parentheses have been positioned so that they work best with words set in lowercase letters. When setting uppercase text, it is recommended that you apply a manual baseline shift to these characters so that they are at a level more suitable for the uppercase letterforms.
ALTERNATE "a"
Both the Golden Age™ and Golden Days™ fonts have an alternate "a" character in the a-ring character slot (option-a for Mac users--alt 0229 for PC users). Simply mask the ring if you wish to use the alternate vowel without the ring.
FULL CHARACTER SET
Each font in the Golden Age™ family has a full character set of 236 characters, with all characters designed in the style of the font.

TypeArt
The first TypeArt fonts were born into the world in 1992, when founder Lloyd Springer produced the first of his more than 400 type designs while trying to create something more interesting to use in his graphic art and desktop publishing assignments. In 1995, the first website was launched to make these cool a...
