Houston Pen replicates the handwriting of Sam Houston, perhaps the most famous Texan, in letters dating from the 1830s to the late-1850s. Much like the man himself, Houston’s handwriting stood fairly large on the page and had a distinctive flourish without being overly flowery. (As most people’s does, it also changed a bit as he aged.)

The font attempts to capture the essential elements of Houston’s fine, legible longhand. Houston Pen has a single, medium-light weight and comes with numerous standard and discretionary ligatures, contextual alternates, ink blots, cross-outs, and support for Central and Eastern European languages.
